About us

VFG-Lab GmbH is a spin-off of the German Research Centre for Geosciences and the University of Potsdam. It offers services in the fields of geological modeling, hydrogeological assessments and consulting, as well as site-specific studies on the use of geothermal energy. In the area of ​​hydrogeological consulting, we also offer expert support in permit and court proceedings for projects in the field of environmental and nature conservation.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Geology from the University of Leoben, Austria, with a focus on hydro- and environmental geology. Graduated with distinction from the University of Leoben, Austria, with a focus on reservoir and petroleum geology. From 2009 to 2010, he was a visiting scientist at the University of Washington, Seattle, USA, working on a project characterizing petroleum migration in Jurassic sandstones. From 2010 to 2014, he earned a PhD in Petroleum Geology from the Royal Holloway University of London, Department of Earth Sciences, with a focus on reservoir characterization and dynamic reservoir simulation.

She studied geology/paleontology at the Free University of Berlin. She received her doctorate from the University of Potsdam, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Department of Geophysics. She subsequently worked as a research associate at the GFZ Potsdam in the Reservoir Technologies section, coordinating the interdisciplinary GeoSolCool Oman project. She led field campaigns in Oman, measured temperature profiles, took samples, and determined petrophysical parameters of sediments.
